Abuja (Sundiata Post) – A Non-governmental Organization (NGO), under the aegis of Heavenly Elderly Charity Arena (HECHARENA), at Christmas, toured Anambra and Enugu States with free medical outreaches for the elderly and the vulnerable in the localities.
Earlier in December, HECHARENA during its grand opening in Awka, Anambra State, gifted over 300 elderly women and widows with cash to cushion the harsh economic realities currently faced in the country.
Sustaining the tempo, the founder of the NGO, Chief Lady Vera Ikokwu, visited the Oraifite community in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the State on December 18, 2024 to further domesticate her philanthropic gesture by providing free medical care and relief materials to the community.
Beneficiaries of her kindness in Oraifite are the Anambra State Association Worldwide (ASA), our correspondent reports.
This medium also gathered that free educational support was also given to pupils of St. John’s Primary School in Okija LGA of the State.
However, speaking during the Southeast tours, Ikokwu said the gesture was born out of her passion for the elderly and less privileged, saying that HECHARENA is positioned to continue to bridge the medical and other essential gaps the vulnerable are lacking.
According to her: “These initiatives demonstrate the impact that HECHARENA can have on the lives of others, by providing access to healthcare and helping to bridge the gap in health disparities and improve overall well-being”, she said.
She added: “I encourage you all to open up to the doctors and be truthful in your conversations regarding your health status in order to aid proper diagnosis and treatment”.
