Abeokuta – The Speaker, Ogun Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has urged Nigerians, especially Christians, to use the Christmas to pray for continued peace and unity of the nation.
Oluomo made this appeal in a statement in Abeokuta on Wednesday to commemorate the 2019 Christmas celebration.
The speaker, who felicitated with Christians on the celebration, said all Nigerians, irrespective of religious or tribal affiliations, should work for the unity and progress of the country.
He said that the season, as exemplified by Christ who the celebration is all about, is an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to serving God and humanity.
He congratulated Christians, especially in Ogun, for the grace of witnessing another Christmas season.
The Speaker advised that they should use the moments to pray for the state and country.
“I want to advise our people to celebrate with moderation during this season and also continue to pray for the success of Gov. Dapo Abiodun and our President, Muhammadu Buhari, as they continue to lead us to the promise land, ” he said.
The speaker assured the citizens of Ogun that the 9th legislature, under his leadership, would continue to pass people -oriented bills into law, while ensuring that dividends of democracy circulate to the nooks and crannies of the state.(NAN)
