LAGOS – Mr Kayode Lawal, President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), on Thursday urged the management and staff of insurance companies to participate in this year’s Insurance Fitness Walk/Road Show.
Lawal made the appeal in a statement signed by CIIN spokesman, Mr Joseph Oba and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
According to the statement, the annual walk among operators now provides opportunities for insurance awareness.
It said that this year’s “Insurance Industry Road Show,” scheduled for May 17, would commence from Jibowu and terminate at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
“The institute’s yearly Fitness/Awareness Walk is always a worthwhile experience.
“The Fitness Walk provides ample opportunities for physical fitness, especially for executives with busy business schedules.
“It should not be ignored by the chief executives for whatever excuses except for unavoidable reasons,” it said.
The statement also quoted the CIIN Director-General, Mr Kola Ahmed as saying that the walk remained an inclusive strategy for marketing insurance and encouraging healthy living.
Ahmed also said that the walk remained a veritable platform for reaching out to members of the insuring public in a unique way.
It said insurance practitioners, especially insurance chief executives were expected to participate in the walk.
It added that the participants were also expected to display the banners of their respective companies while also distributing information handbills.
The statement said that attractive prizes would be awarded to exceptional participants at the National Theatre. (NAN)
