ABUJA – The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), has decried the low turnout of voters in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Mr Salawudeen Hashim, the Programme Officer of CISLAC, made this known in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.
“The voters attributed the low turnout in the polling units to their experiences during the last elections when they voted massively for PDP and their votes did not count.
“They expressed dissatisfaction with the results released by INEC, that is why they refused to come out to cast their votes,’’ Hashim said.

He, however, commended the encouraging turnout of voters and timely arrival of INEC officials for the exercise in Kaduna North.
Mr Timbut Gonji, the Assistant Finance Officer of CISLAC, who also spoke with NAN through telephone from Jos expressed dismay on the low turnout of voters in Buruku in Jos South.
Gonji expressed optimism that the situation would improve as soon as the exercise commenced. (NAN)
