DITSE – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State on Thursday said it had arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing an armour cable at Dutse International Airport.
The NSCDC commandant in the state, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told newsmen that the suspects were arrested while attempting to take the cable out of the airport around 3 a.m.
Gidado said the suspects, Ismail Damilola and Abubakar Ahmad, were arrested by detectives of the command at the airport.
“The NSCDC, Jigawa Command, in it’s efforts to safeguard government and public property, has arrested Isma’il Damilola and Abubakar Ahmed, for stealing armour cable meant to be used at the Dutse International Airport.
“The cable, according to the site engineer, Ajibola Sami’u, costs millions of naira,” he said.
He said investigation into the case had commenced after which the suspects would be charged to court.(NAN)
