ABUJA – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has urged Muslims to offer special prayers during the holy month of Ramadan to curb insurgency.

The NSCDC FCT Commandant, Alhaji Aminu Kofarsoro, made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.

The corps enjoined the faithful to pray for Allah’s guidance to resolve the security challenge threatening the country’s unity and growth.

The statement signed by the command’s Spokesman, Mr David Akinbinu, also urged FCT residents to be law abiding throughout the holy month in order to enjoy it’s physical and spiritual benefits.[eap_ad_2]

Kofarsoro identified prayers, firmness of purpose and pursuit of good deed as imperatives to reap the benefits of the holy month.

“Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam and I urge Muslims to accord it all necessary attention by being proactive in decisions and actions that will ensure their full participation.

“Prayers, firmness of purpose and pursuit of good deeds are imperative if we hope to reap the benefits of the holy month,’’ said the statement. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
