BETHLEHEM (ISRAEL) – An Anglican cleric, Rev. Michael Okoh, on Saturday identified peaceful co-existence as a panacea for the growth and development of any nation.
Okoh said this in a sermon at the inter-denominational service held for Nigeria in Bethlehem, Israel by Anambra delegates on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
He harped on the need for religious tolerance, noting there would not be any meaningful development in the country if people do not show love and tolerance.
“Disunity can only cause rancor and bitterness, both of which hinder progress, growth and development in any society.
“Christians should tread the path of good communal living and show love to all, irrespective of region, race and tribe,’’ the cleric said.

Earlier, the Chairman of Anambra Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Dr Levi Muonanu, also emphasised the need for Christians to emulate Jesus Christ in their relationship with others.
He, therefore, urged the pilgrims to pray for the peace and unity of the country and also endeavour to be good ambassadors of Nigeria even after the pilgrimage.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the pilgrims are expected to leave Bethlehem on Sunday for Jerusalem.
They will then visit Mount of Olives, Mount Zion, Temple Mount and King David’s tomb, among others.(NAN)
