Cleric says Buhari’s victory further strengthened Nigeria

PORT HARCOURT – Rev Franklin Ihemefor of African Episcopal Methodist Zion Church (AEMZC), Port Harcourt, on Wednesday said President-elect Muhammadu Buhari’s victory was referendum for a unity between and Muslims.

Ihemefor disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt.

He said that , irrespective of their religious differences, demonstrated patriotism and oneness with Buhari’s victory.

‘’If watch, you can recall that Nigerians did not vote with tribal or religious bias, instead they voted with for Nigeria.

‘’The Christian dominated West voted in bloc for Buhari just as Central to show you that we are one people,’’ Ihemefor said.

The reiterated his belief in , saying that the country had overcome its disparities.

He called on Nigerians to continue to demonstrate the spirit of togetherness and love for the country irrespective of tribe or religion.

According to him, after all, man created religion and it is very foolish of man to allow what he created to divide him.

The cleric, who noted that Nigeria’s future was very promising, said that it required the collective effort of all Nigerians.

Ihemefor urged the incoming Federal Government to engender policies that would cushion the effects of hardship in the country.

He blamed the country’s economic woes on endemic corruption that had eaten deep into the fabric of the nation.

Ihemefor, however, called on Nigerians to cooperate with the in-coming government in all areas for a greater country. (NAN)
