PORT HARCOURT – Rev Franklin Ihemefor of African Episcopal Methodist Zion Church (AEMZC), Port Harcourt, on Wednesday said President-elect Muhammadu Buhari’s victory was referendum for a unity between Christians and Muslims.
Ihemefor disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt.
He said that Nigerians, irrespective of their religious differences, demonstrated patriotism and oneness with Buhari’s victory.
‘’If watch, you can recall that Nigerians did not vote with tribal or religious bias, instead they voted with love for Nigeria.
He called on Nigerians to continue to demonstrate the spirit of togetherness and love for the country irrespective of tribe or religion.
According to him, after all, man created religion and it is very foolish of man to allow what he created to divide him.
The cleric, who noted that Nigeria’s future was very promising, said that it required the collective effort of all Nigerians.
Ihemefor urged the incoming Federal Government to engender policies that would cushion the effects of hardship in the country.
He blamed the country’s economic woes on endemic corruption that had eaten deep into the fabric of the nation.
Ihemefor, however, called on Nigerians to cooperate with the in-coming government in all areas for a greater country. (NAN)
