Ikorodu (Lagos State) – A Cleric, Peter Okewunmi of Gospel Baptist Cathedral, in Lagos on Saturday partly blamed involvement of youth in crime, drug addiction, alcoholic, and other bad behaviours on the ‘meltdown’ of the family.
He said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that children whose parents separated tended to live a shabby life in the future.
“Children of separated parents are more likely to suffer behavioural problems later in life.
“Couples, who seek divorce, do not put their children into consideration, separation impacted negatively on children.

“Separation creates new life and new challenges in children, they see life as cruel,’’ he said.
Okewunmi called on couples to always seek redress and settle their marital dispute amicably rather than divorcing themselves.
He also advised couples to be prayerful in times of trouble. (NAN)
