LAFIA – A cleric, Malam Ishaq Adudu, on Saturday urged president-elect, retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to ensure equity in the distribution of the nation’s resources and making his appointments.
Adudu, the chief Imam of Kidi Magoron Mosque, Lafia, Nasarawa State, made the call in Lafia during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that equitable distribution of resources and appointments would foster peace, unity and help in achieving speedy development of the country.

“I want to congratulate the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and admonish him to ensure even distribution of resources and appointments across the country in the interest of peace and unity.
“Equitable distribution of resources and appointments across the country will not only foster peace and unity but will also boost the socio-economic development of every state.
“Our role is to preach peace, ensure peace and unity so that meaningful development can be achieved in our country for the benefit of all.
“Without peace no meaningful development can be achieved in any society because peace is priceless and non negotiable”, he said.
He said the security challenges some parts of the country had negatively affected the ntion’s socio-economic development.
“There is the need for all hands to be on deck in order to fight the menace for the overall development of the country’’, he said.
Adudu also applauded President Goodluck Jonathan for exhibiting high level of maturity in conceding defeat to Buhari.
He called on others political leaders to emulate Jonathan in the interest of peace and national development.
Adudu advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by selfish individuals to foment trouble, adding that they should engage in meaningful ventures. (NAN)
