Rev Ogidi Dickson, the Pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All, Central Business Area, Abuja, on Tuesday urged couples to practice God’s love which is sacrificial.
He made the call at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, at the wedding between Maurice Tapgun, son of Mr Fidelis Tapgun, Plateau’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Folasade Adeyemo.
He noted that many marriages had collapsed because partners were not selfless while some couples compared their marriages to those of people who did not live in Christ.
In his remarks, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau also urged Christians to embrace love and tolerance to have good marriages.
While congratulating the couple, Lalong advised them to be committed to their marriage and to build a home founded on love, tolerance and mutual respects.
He urged them to inculcate godly virtues by ensuring they did not bring disrepute to their families who have invested so much to train them.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Paulen Tallen, was among dignitaries at the wedding.
