Abuja – Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over central states, with chances of localised thunderstorms over Makurdi, Lafia, Mambilla Plateau and Jalingo on Tuesday morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Monday in Abuja also predicted day and night temperatures of 29 to 34 and 18 to 25 degrees celsius.
It added that there would be chances of localised thunderstorms over Minna, Jos, Kaduna, Lafia, Abuja, Lokoja and Makurdi in the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning, with chances of localised rains over Abakaliki, Enugu and some parts of the coastal region.
It also predicted localised thunderstorms over most places later in the afternoon and evening hours, with day and night temperatures of 29 to 33 and 21 to 25 degrees celsius.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy to sunny conditions in the morning and the conditions are expected to prevail later into the day.
“The region is expected to have day and night temperatures in the range of 34 to 40 and 22 to 24 degrees celsius.
“Partly cloudy to sunny conditions are anticipated over the northern cities, with prospects of thunderstorms and rains over central cities and southern part of the country within the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet noted. (NAN)
