Abuja- Justice Danladi Umar, the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (COCT), on Monday, approved the appointment of Mr AbdulMalik Shaibu as the tribunal’s Acting Chief Registrar.
Notice of the appointment is contained in a statement issued by Mr Ibrahim Alhassan, the COCT’s Head of Press and Public Relations.
The statement quoted Alhassan as stating that Shaibu’s appointment followed the elevation of Mr Bello Kawu, his predecessor, to FCT High Court as Judge.
He said that the appointment letter, with reference number CCT/HQ/618//6/5, was signed by Mr A.M. Badisha, the COCT’s Director of Administration, on behalf of Justice Umar.

“I am directed to convey the chairman’s approval on your new appointment as Acting Chief Registrar of Code of Conduct Tribunal with effect from Dec. 18,’’ he quoted the appointment letter as saying.
Shaibu obtained his LLB from University of Benin in 1986 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 1987.
The new acting chief registrar’s early career spanned many years of private legal practice and banking before he joined the COCT in December 2006, where he rose to the position of Director, Legal Services in January 2013.
Shaibu is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and is married with children. (NAN)
