Beijing – Ling Zhengce, former senior official of Shanxi Province, was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and public office after being investigated over corruption.
The probe found that Ling, former Vice Chairman, Shanxi provincial committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, took advantage of his position to help his family members in business.
He was said to have sought personal aggrandisement in the discharge of his officials and business operations.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline and Inspection (CCDI) said in a statement on Friday that Ling was found to have also taken took bribes in the course of performing his duties.
The body said Ling also tried to obstruct the investigation; it failed to give details of how he had done so.
“Being a senior official, Ling should have followed party rules and acted with integrity, instead he flouted the rules and undermined the selection process of officials,” the CCDI said.
It said “Ling continued his wrongdoing even after the CPC National Congress in late 2012, when the new leadership launched its anti-corruption campaign.’
Following the indictment, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate announced that it has started a criminal investigation into Ling and placed him under `compulsory measures,’.
This may refer to summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention or arrest. (Xinhua/NAN)
