Kwami (Gombe)- Communities in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State have appealed to federal and state governments to beef up security before April 11 governorship and state assemblies elections in the state.
Some of the residents made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kwami on Saturday.
Malam Abdullahi Abubakar, a resident, said the people were frightened by the disruption of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of Dukku and Nafada local government areas of the state.

He said that a lot of people had attempted to run in Kwami when they heard of an attack by gunmen.
Abubakar said that if government did not increase security measures the communities would be affected oin future.
Samail Hassan, another resident, said that government and the security agencies needed to redouble their efforts on the issue of insurgency.
He called on the government to direct the security personnel to clear the gunmen from the bushes where they were hiding before attacking people.
Malam Umar Baba told NAN that he escaped the attack in Dukku and ran to a bush for his safety.
On Feb. 14, gunmen attacked Gombe metropolis and other parts of the state after distributing a message calling on the public not to participate in the general election. (NAN)
