Residents of Fagam community in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa have commended the state government for providing a Juma’at Mosque and an Islamiyya school in the area.
A cross-section of the residents made the commendation on Friday in Gwaram in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
One of the residents, Malam Auwalu Sani, said the provision of the Islamiyya school would enhance access to quality Islamic education among the people of the area.
He said people from neighbouring communities would also benefit from the school and urged parents to enrol their children into the school.
Another resident, Malam Garba Aliyu, said the provision of the Mosque would reduce the distance some residents trek to attend Juma’at (Friday) prayers in other towns.
He said the gesture would also open up the area for business activities, as traders would now come to the area to sell their wares during the weekly prayer.
NAN reports that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, had inaugurated the Mosque.
