ILORIN – A mortgage company, Exact Bright Limited, on Sunday launched a scheme that would ensure the delivery of 204 housing units within 24 months in Kwara.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the new Flourish Estate located on the Ilorin-Ajase-Ipo highway, the Managing Director of the company, Mr Olusegun Adeniyi, said the initiative was to provide affordable houses for workers.
Adeniyi, who described housing as a basic necessity, lamented that government had not been able to match housing delivery with population growth.
” We share in the belief that workers deserve to live in decent houses of theirs.
”Exact Bright Limited, therefore conceived the idea of this housing scheme for workers, both middle level and low income earners, late last year,” he said.
Adeniyi also said the scheme would bridge the gap between rising population and housing need, adding that it had the support of the Kwara Bureau of Lands.
Dignitaries at the occasion included the Chairman of Isin Local Government Council of Kwara, Mr Maruf Thanni, and the Oniwo of Iwo, Oba Joshua Olutade.
Others were the Alamayo of Amayo, Oba Jamiu Ibrahim and the state Vice Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mr Abdulrasak Ariwoola. (NAN)
