Abakaliki- The Ebonyi Government on Wednesday in Abakaliki commenced biometric capturing training for78 persons, who would identify beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mrs Racheal Umahi, the wife of Ebonyi governor, who spoke at the opening of the workshop, said that the training would enable the 78 succour givers to effectively carry out field works.
She said that they were expected to identify and select indigent widows, orphans and vulnerable children who would benefit from the scheme.
“The workshop is to train 78 succour givers on biometric capturing and engagement of stakeholders in targeting right beneficiaries for the CCT project, who will in turn help carry out field works in selecting the right beneficiaries such as the down trodden,’’ she said.
Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu, the Focal Person of the SDGs in Ebonyi, said that the programme came at the right time, adding that the 78 succour givers were selected equally from the 13 local government areas.
“The 78 succour givers will be trained and drilled by experts on biometric capturing as we target the right beneficiaries from the 13 local government areas of Ebonyi for the SDGs CCT project.
“Office of Her Excellency has attracted funding from SDGs in Abuja for the state and local government programmes,” she said. (NAN)
