Onitsha (Anambra) – Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has urged the federal and state governments to enact laws banning the sale of alcohol in motor parks across the country.
Oyeyemi made the call at the “Don’t Drink and Drive (DDD)’’ campaign organised by the FRSC in partnership with the Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc in Onitsha on Wednesday.

In his remark, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hassan Karma, said that his command would partner with FRSC to ensure sanity and safety of road users.

Anambra in general remained a zero tolerance zone for criminality.
Earlier, Mr Sunday Ajayi, Sector Commander, FRSC in Anambra, said the command was aware of the critical role Onitsha played in the nation’s road transport sector.
Ajayi called on the stakeholders in road transport to encourage their members to shun drunk driving as it often resulted to “visual impairment, wrong sense of judgment and deadly confidence’’.
He said that while the command would continue to advocate for decency, it would not relent in punishing offenders according to the law. (NAN)
