Osogbo – An Osogbo Customary Court on Friday dissolved a six-year-old marriage between Rasheed Olalekan and his wife Mutiat, for threat to life.
The President of the court, Chief Popoola Bolarinwa, in his judgment, held the marriage had broken down irreparably
Bolarinwa dissolved the marriage based on the request of the husband.
Olalekan, a welder, told the court that his wife was troublesome and always gave him heartache.
He asked the court to dissolve the marriage based on the allegations against his wife.
“I was hoping she will change her behaviour but she still remains the same stubborn woman, who does not like to be corrected.
On her part, Mutiat, who is a petty trader, denied the allegations, and begged the court not to dissolve the marriage.
She said that her husband did not care for their only child, which she had for him.
“My husband hates the child I had for him and the children I had for my formal husband. He doesn’t even like to see them at all.
“The last issue we had was when I asked him for N1,000 which he refused to give me, and when I complained about this, he said I am troublesome.
“I don’t want divorce because of my child who is still sick,’’ she said. (NAN)
