Court orders remand of teenager over alleged motorcycle theft




Iseyin (Oyo State) – An Iseyin Chief Magistrates’ Court, Oyo State, on Monday ordered the remand of 19-year-old Olayiwola Mustapha, in a correctional centre over alleged theft of a motorcycle.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Maaruf Mudashiru, ordered that Mustapha be remanded in a correctional centre after he pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing preferred against him.
The chief magistrate adjourned the case until Sept.14 and urged Mudashiru to get a legal counsel on that date.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Shaib Shedrack, had told the court that the defendant, whose address was not provided, committed the alleged offence on Aug. 14 at Iseyin.
He said that the motorcycle belonged to one Joseph Bolatito.
Shedrack said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 383 and 390 (10a) C38, Laws of Oyo State.
