Abuja, – A Karu Grade I Area Court, Abuja on Tuesday remanded a 39-year-old man, Ahmed Isa for allegedly beating up a lady for refusing his friendship.The judge, Umar Mayana, ordered that Isa be remanded until Dec. 15 to determine his sentence, after he pleaded guilty to causing grievous hurt.The Prosecution Counsel, Olarewaju Osho told the court that complainant (victim) reported the matter at the Maitama police station on Nov. 28.He said the defendant approached the complainant to be his friend but she refused his advances.The defendant, he said, got angry and attacked her and in the process dislocated her the left arm.He said the complainant was rushed to the hospital.The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 246 of the Penal Code.(NAN)
