KAFANCHA (Sundiata Post) – A Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, has ordered the remand of two men, Abubakar Ibrahim and Shamsu Ladan, in a correctional centre.
The Presiding Judge, Michael Bawa, ordered their remand after they pleaded guilty to stealing a motorcycle.
Bawa also reserved sentencing for March 20 following their plea for leniency.
The duo were charged by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with criminal conspiracy, conspiracy trespass and theft.
The NSCDC Prosecutor, Mr Marcus Audu, told the court that the matter was reported by the complainant, Inuwa Dahiru at the Corps’ office in Kafanchan on Feb. 27.
Audu explained that the defendants entered the complainant’s house at Katsina Street on Feb. 26, at about 2:00a.m., and stole his Hyojeu motorcycle.
He said that the accused persons were arrested and later confessed to the crime during investigation.
According to him, the offences contravene sections 59, 327 and 270 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law. (NAN)
