ADO-EKITI – An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday remanded two men, Otiatigbore Sylvester,20, and Johnson Esharef, 25, in prison for alleged manslaughter.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Olasunkanmi Bamikole, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on Dec.4, at Owa Isun St., Ilawe-Ekiti.
He said that the accused on the said date, unlawfully murdered one Ezekiel Tega by shooting him with a gun.
According to him, the offence contravened Section 325 of the Criminal code, Cap C’16, Laws of Ekiti State. 2012.
He told the court that he had duplicated the case file and sent to it to the office of Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The plea of the accused persons was not taken, while their counsel, Mr Seun Oyebanji, applied for an adjournment pending the advice from the DPP office.
Chief Magistrate Idowu Ayenimo, consequently remanded the duo in prison pending the outcome of the DPP advice.
He adjourned the case till Dec.17, for further hearing. (NAN)
