Lagos, Jan. 27, 2016 (NAN) An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Wednesday remanded two drivers, Samson Showole and Kazeem Shaka, who pleaded guilty to driving without driver’s licences, in Kirikiri Prisons.
The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, remanded the duo after they admitted committing the offences.
Kubeinje adjourned the case till Feb. 2 for facts and sentencing.

Showole, 54, is a resident of No. 16, Odetayo St. in Meiran, and Shaka, 38, who resides at No. 20, Anifowoshe St. in Meiran, both suburbs of Lagos.
They were arraigned on a two-count charge of reckless driving and driving without valid driver’s licence.
The prosecutor, Insp. Essien Ndarake, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 23 at Dopemu area, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Lagos State.
Ndarake said that the accused drove their vehicles without valid driver’s licences.
“The accused confessed that they did not have driver’s licences,” he said.
Ndarake said that the accused drove their vehicles on the public highway in a reckless manner and rammed into a Honda Accord car.
“The accused drove their buses in dangerous manners and damaged a Honda Accord car whose cost of repair is yet to be determined,” he said.
The prosecutor said that the accused who were coming from Oshodi end of the expressway speeding, were also struggling with each other on the highway.
Ndarake said that the offences contravened Section 19 of the Lagos State Traffic Law, 2012. (NAN)
