Gombe – The Chief Magistrates’ Court 6, on Monday, in Gombe, remanded Walid Muhammad, 22, and Buhari Aminu, 21, in prison custody for alleged criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
Babayo Usamatu, the Chief Magistrate I, ordered the remand of the accused persons and adjourned the case to Dec. 5 to enable the police complete investigation.
Earlier, reading the first Information Report (FIR), Umar Aliyu, the court clerk, told the court that the accused persons on Aug. 27, conspired with Musa Huzaifa and Abubakar Babangaye now at large.
“Armed themselves with cutlasses and knives, they invaded the House of one Shuaibu of Nasarawo quarters, Gombe; attacked and robbed him of his property worth N35,000 and a cash of N30, 000,” he said.
Aliyu said that they committed an offence contrary to Sections 96 and 296 of the Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Sgt. Bako Shekari, told the court that investigation was still ongoing and asked for more time to enable him complete the investigation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused persons had pleaded guilty to the alleged offence. (NAN)
