Sokoto, – A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Sokoto, on Thursday, remanded a 37-year-old trader, David Onaji, in prison custody for alleged using force and assault on one Victoria Sadiq.
The Chief Magistrate, Fati Dewa, ordered the remand of the accused and adjourned the case until Dec. 19, for further mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Monday Kennedy, had told the court that the case was reported at Ungwuan Rogo Police Station, Sokoto by the complainant on Dec. 4.
Kennedy said that the accused went to the complainant at old airport area of the state capital and criminally used force to sleep with her in public, without any good reason.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 265 (b) of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
