LAGOS – An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday remanded a 20-year-old businessman, Emmanuel Agbosi, and a 21-year-old driver, Audu Akeem, at Ikoyi Prisons over alleged armed robbery.
Agbosi is a resident of No. 9, Tire Road by Seliat Bus Stop, Egbeda, a Lagos suburb, while Akeem lives at Plot 7, Isheri Olufi Housing Estate, also in Egbeda.
They are facing charges of conspiracy and armed robbery.
The Magistrate, Miss Oluwatosin Fowowe, ordered that the businessman and the driver should be remanded in prison custody pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). [eap_ad_2] “The defendants are to be remanded at Ikoyi Prisons pending advice from the office of the DPP.”
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Charles Odii had told the court that the accused committed the offences with others still at large on Mar. 5 at No. 4/6, Ayodeji Adeife St., off Mufutau Adeyemi St., Egbeda.
He said the accused, who were armed with some dangerous weapons, robbed one Mr Nwanen Dozie of his Toyota Avalon car, two phones and N40, 000.
Odii said the accused also robbed one Mr Kenneth Okonji of one Techno Phantom Ipad, a Nokia phone, a laptop and a wallet containing at GTB ATM cards and N10, 000.
“The Toyota Avalon car was, however, recovered from the accused,’’ he said.
According to the prosecution, the offences contravene Sections 1(2), (a), (b) and 6 of the Armed Robbery and Firearms Act. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
