Ikorodu (Lagos State) – A 23-year-old man, Azeez Adebowale, was on Wednesday remanded in prison custody by an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, over alleged armed robbery.
Adebowale, of no fixed address, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Mary Ajiteru, told the court that the accused and others still at large, robbed one Babatunde Idowu of his cell phones and jewellery valued at N350, 000.
Ajiteru said the accused, also armed with dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and guns, attacked one Balogun Lawal at his residence and dispossessed him of his cell phones, jewellery and N250,000 cash.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“The accused, who gave no fix address and others still at large, robbed the two occupants of No. 16, Alhaji Rasak St., Mushin in Lagos on Nov. 8,’’ he said.
Ajiteru said the offences contravened Sections 409 and 295(a) (b) of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The plea of the accused was not taken.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olagbegi Adelabu, however, remanded the accused in prison custody, pending the outcome of legal advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The case was adjourned till Dec.18, for mention. (NAN)
