Enugu -The Enugu East Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded one Ozioma Ezekegbu, 28, of Enugu East Local Government Area for alleged conspiracy and armed robbery.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge.
Police prosecutor Ruben Ihejiobi told the court that the matter was reported by the complainant, one Ekene Eze, at the Ogui Police Station on July 24.
“The accused robbed the complainant of his property, a laptop worth N55,000 and cash of N30,000 with a locally-made pistol.
“The offence committed by the accused is punishable under the Robbery and Firearms Act, Cap II, Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria 2004,’’ he said.
Ihejiobi called five witnesses in the matter, saying that they were ready to give account of what happened.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr Chuks Mba, said that the witnesses should testify at the high court.
Mba said that the five witnesses should be present at the court whenever the case was called, saying that whoever was absent would pay a fine of N10,000
