Ile-Ife – An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Friday ordered the remand in prison custody of one Akin Adekola, 25, charged with house-breaking and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, had told that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 24, 2018, at about 8.20 p.m. at Mayfair area of Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the accused conspired with others now at large, with intent to commit felony to wit, house-breaking, entering and stealing.
He said that the accused broke into the house of Akintunde Mutiu and stole one unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, Red Colour, with Engine number DUMBUB54434 and Chassis number MDZDDDM22VWB45559, valued at N110, 000.
The prosecutor added that the accused also broke into the shop of one Gbenke Olasunkanmi and stole one and half packs of Sabina dry gin.
Other items stolen at the shop, according to him, were two bottles of Eskala dry gin, 20 pieces of Regal gin, two packs of Yes Cigarette, six pieces of Viju milk, one pack of Can Coca-Cola drink and one pack of Steaker herbal drink.
He told the court that the offence contravened sections 383, 390 (8), 411, 412 and 516(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused, who was not legally represented, pleaded guilty to the seven-count charge, including house-breaking, conspiracy, stealing and entering, preferred against him.
Consequently, the Magistrate, Mrs Adejumoke Ademola-Olowolagba, refused bail for the accused and ordered that he should be remanded at Ile-Ife prison.
She adjourned the case until Dec. 5 “for presentation of facts”.
