Ibadan, – An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday ordered that a 33-year-ikd man, Faruq Giwa,, be remanded after he failed to perfect his bail conditions.
The police charged Giwa, whose residential address was not provided with obtaining money under false pretences and theft.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Akande, had admitted Giwa to bail in the sum of N400, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Jan. 16, for hearing.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Philip Amusan told the court that Giwa in September 2021, around Omi-Adio Ibadan, allegedly, fraudulently obtained N1.3million from Atobatele Arisekola to procure a Canadian and UK visas.
He said the offence contravened the provisions os sections 419 and 390(9) of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
