Lagos – An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, remanded a 20- year old man, Damilola Oladehinde, to Kirikiri prison for allegedly robbing a pedestrian at gun point.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr J. A Adegun, who refused taking the accused plea, ordered his remand in prison and adjourned the case to May 23 for mention.
The accused, a motor cyclist, who resides at 22, Oke Oba St., Alaba, Lagos, is being tried for conspiracy and robbery.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Clifford Ogu, had told the court that offences were committed on April 29, at Alaba area, Lagos.
Ogu alleged that the accused and another, now at large, robbed the complainant, Mr Anayo Igwu, of his mobile phone and money on his way from work at about 9:45 pm.
“The accused, who were armed with a gun and cutlass, robbed the complainant of his mobile phone valued at N45,000 and N35,000 cash.
“The police patrol team which sighted them as they were running away from the scene, apprehended the accused while his accomplice escaped,” Ogu said.
He said the offences contravened Sections 297 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
