Benin – An Evbouriaria Magistrate’s Court in Benin on Wednesday remand one Gift Edosonwan, 17, in prison custody for allegedly killing one Itohan Enagbare with a kitchen knife.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Olatoye Oluwaseun, told the court that the accused with one other person now at large committed the offence on Dec. 6, 2015, at No. 2, Osazee close, off Okunser Street, Benin.
Oluwaseun told the court that the accused stabbed the victim on her chest with a kitchen knife.
The accused was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and murder.
The plea of the accused was, however, not taken.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 324 and 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 48 Vol. 11 Laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976, now applicable in Edo.
Chief Magistrate C.E Oghuma directed that a duplicate copy of the case file should be sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution,(DPP) for legal advice.
Oghuma, who also ordered that the accused be remanded in Igbekun Prison, adjourned the case till March 4 for mention.(NAN)
