A magistrate court in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, has issued an order to detain Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, widely known as Trinityguy, a popular skit maker, in prison.
This decision follows allegations that Trinityguy portrayed a minor in a sexually suggestive manner in one of his viral skit videos.
The Nigerian Police had demanded the arrest of Trinityguy after one of his videos depicting dangerous pranks gained widespread attention, as confirmed by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the police force.
According to a statement released by the Oyo State Police Command on Friday, the skit maker and the parent of the young girl featured in the viral video were interrogated by the command and were expected to appear in court today, Monday.
Upon presenting the defendant before Magistrate Olúdáre Adebayo, the defense counsel for Trinityguy, who was brought to court by the police, pleaded with the court to grant bail to his client.
However, Magistrate PO Adetuyibi rejected the bail application, asserting that the allegations against the skit maker are currently being investigated by the State Ministry of Justice.
The court additionally decided that the parents of the minor girl seen in the video would also be held in custody along with Trinityguy until the next court session.
The Magistrate adjourned the case until July 11.
