The Presiding Judge, Hassan Ishaq, sentenced Daddy, without an option of fine, after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of house-breaking and theft.
Ishaq said that the punishment would serve as a deterrent to youths who “have chosen the life of crime, instead of facing their studies or look for work to do.”
He also ordered the convict to pay N30, 000.00 as compensation money to the nominal complainant.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Cpl. Jerry Tangshak, had told the court that one Collins Ndubusi of Area B, Nyanya, Abuja, reported the matter at the Nyanya Police Station on March 15.
He said that the accused broke into the complainant’s house and stole two phones valued at N29, 000.00 and the sum of N30, 000.00.
Tangshak said that the phones were recovered during police investigation.

He told the court that the accused was once convicted by the same court sometime in November 2014, for criminal offence, trespass and theft.
“My lord, he was convicted and sentenced to four months imprisonment with an option to pay N5,000 fine.
“He just came back from prison and he committed another offence,’’ the prosecutor had said. (NAN)
