Osogbo – A 21-year-old man, Adeyeye Oluwaseyi, who allegedly broke into a shop and carted away some items including shoes worth N38, 000, was on Wednesday brought before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court.
He was, however, released on bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
Oluwaseyi is facing a three-count charge bothering on burglary and theft.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Aug. 29 at 3.30 p.m. at Rasco area of Osogbo.
Ajayi said the accused broke into the shop of the complainant, Ezebuife Jecinta, and carted away some items including a travel bag, pairs of shoes and a football valued at N38,000.
The offences contravened Sections 390 (9), 412 and 413(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty and his lawyer, Mrs Elizabeth Ovie, urged the court to grant her bail on liberal terms.
In her ruling, the Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, granted the accused bail, said the sureties should be resident within the court’s jurisdiction with an evidence of tax payment.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 18 for mention.
