Lagos (Lagos State) – A Surulere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Tuesday struck out the charge of disobeying traffic law preferred against a motorcyclist, Murtala Ibrahim.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, said she struck out the case for lack of diligent prosecution.
Ibrahim had been arraigned on a four-count charge of driving dangerously and not obeying traffic laws.
The prosecutor, Insp. Gabriel Ekundayo, had told the court that Ibrahim was arrested on Lagos-Badagry Express Way on Nov 23.
Ekundayo said the accused drove the motorcycle with Reg. No. Q873LSR in a manner that was dangerous to other road users.
“He picked and dropped passengers in an unauthorised place and could not produce motorcycle or rider’s license when asked to do so.
