Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Lagos state top the COVID-19 chat with 316 cases and FCT came second with 210 infections as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control recorded 1,041 new cases in the country.
Other states where new infections were reported are as follows: Kaduna-83, Plateau-70, Gombe and Oyo-56 each, Katsina-47, Nasarawa-35, Kano-33, Ogun-21, Rivers-17, Niger and Imo-14 each, Delta, Kwara, and Edo- 12 each, Benue-9, Anambra-8, Ebonyi-6, Taraba and Ekiti-4 each, Bayelsa and Sokoto-1each.
According to the report released via it’s twitter handle late Thursday, the total confirmed cases have risen to 81,963 out of which 69,651 patients have been treated and discharged from various isolation facilities in the country.
The health agency also informed that 1,242 lives been lost to COVID-19 related ailments since the index case was reported in February 2020.
