Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The latest report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says that Lagos State, the epicentre of COVID-19 infection accounted for 52.2percent of 136 new confirmed cases recorded on Monday in Nigeria.
The health agency’s report released via twitter handle stated that Lagos State alone recorded 71 infections while Rivers and Plateau states came second and third with 23 and 12 cases respectively.
Others are;
Adamawa and Oyo-6 each; Kaduna-5;
Abia and FCT-3 each; Katsina and Kwara-2 each while Bauchi, Borno and Edo recorded 1 infection each.
The report added that the newly reported cases brought total confirmed cases in the country to 58,460 while total discharged patients are now 49,895.
The NCDC said that the management of the novel virus has not been without casualties as 1,111 deaths have been recorded since the index case was recorded in the country on February 27, 2020.
