Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The latest COVID-19 report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has it that Lagos State, the epicentre of the novel virus, accounted for 642 infections as the health agency confirmed 1,074 new cases on Monday.
According to the report released via the agency’s twitter handle, the other 14 states (including FCT) where infections were recorded are:
Kaduna-92; Rivers-78; FCT and Gombe-66 each; Kano-35; Ogun-31; Katsina-22; Plateau-20; Abia-7; Niger and Oyo-4; Akwa Ibom-3;
Delta and Osun-2 each.
The NCDC further informed that the total confirmed cases have risen to 88,587 out of which 74,373 patients have been treated and discharged since the index case was reported in February 27 in Nigeria.
It also stated that 1,294 lives have been lost to COVID-19 related complications from across the various isolation facilities in Nigeria.
