COVID-19: Lagos accounts for 774 infections out of 1,244 new confirmed cases – NCDC

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Lagos State – the epicentre of COVID-19 accounted for 774 infections out the 1,244 cases confirmed on Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said.

The report released by the health agency via it’ twitter handle said the other states where infections were recorded are as follows:

Anambra-47
Ondo-46
Rivers-27
Edo-18
Kaduna-16

Gombe-16
Bauchi-11
Kano-11
Nasarawa-10
Akwa Ibom-7
Sokoto-7
Borno-5
Ekiti-4
Zamfara-2.

The said the newly confirmed infections increased the total confirmed cases to 101,331 out of which 80,491 have been discharged from various isolation in Nigeria.

The report also stated 1,361 lives have been lost to COVID-19 related complications since the index case was reported in February 2020.
