Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced the confirmation of 506 new cases of COVID-19; adding that it has discharged 113,525 patients since the index case was reported in February 27 last year.
Releasing the report via it’s twitter handle on Sunday, the health agency also informed that it has confirmed a total of 139,748 cases from across the various isolation facilities in Nigeria.
The NCDC regrettably reported that 1,667 lives have been lost to the COVID-19 related complications in Nigeria.
According to the report, the fresh cases were recorded from twenty states including the FCT as follows;
Ondo-90; Kwara-89; Rivers-53; Borno-45;
Gombe-32; FCT-28; Imo-26 and Ogun-25.
Other states where the infections were reported are: Kaduna and Kano-14 each;
Edo-13; Osun-11; Cross River-10; Yobe-9;
Ekiti-7; Kebbi and Nasarawa-6; Oyo-5 and
Jigawa-1.
The health agency further gave the state by state breakdown of the total confirmed cases as shown below:
