Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The latest update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said that with the 221 new cases of COVID-19 recorded on Friday, the total confirmed cases in Nigeria have risen to 56,956.
The healthy which disclosed this via it’s twitter handle account noted that new Infections were recorded from 18 States as follows;

Gombe-20
Plateau-17
Rivers-11
Bauchi-7
Benue-6
Ekiti-6
Imo-6
Kaduna-4
Kwara-4
Ondo-4
Ogun-3
Osun-3
Bayelsa-1

The NCDC further informed that 1,094 lives have been lost to the novel virus pandemic that was first recorded in Nigeria on the 27th of February 2020.
The report also noted that significant success has been recorded in the fight against COVID-19 as 48,305 have been treated and discharged after their recovery from different isolation and treatment centres.
