Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The latest update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed that 601 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday.
This brings the the total confirmed cases to 51,905 out of which 38,767 have been discharged after their recovery.
Lagos state, the epicentre of the COVID-19 infection in Nigeria accounted for 68.2 percent of the newly recorded cases on Saturday.
The report of the health agency further revealed that 997 persons have died as a result of the novel virus since the index case in February 27, 2020 in Nigeria.
