Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 676 new cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria.
The 676 confirmed cases were recorded from 19 states with Lagos State – the epicentre of the novel virus infection leading the table with 227 cases followed by Rivers with 73 while Niger and plateau came third and fourth with 69 and 56 cases respectively.
Others are: FCT-50; Kano-44; Oyo-43; Ogun-27; Gombe-18; Ondo-15; Enugu and Osun-10 each; Cross River and Edo-8 each; Nasarawa-7; Bauchi-4; Kaduna-3 while
Ekiti and Zamfara recorded 2 cases each.
The health agency in the report released via it’s twitter, further informed that with the new confirmed infections, the total confirmed cases have risen to 131,918 out of which 106,275 patients have been discharged From various isolation centres in Nigeria.
The NCDC regrettably reported that 1,607 lives have been lost to COVID-19 related complications since the index case was reported in February 27, 2020 in Nigeria.
