Enugu – The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, says the Police Command will sustain its top ranking through massive outreach to all strata and groups in the state.
Danmallam told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Enugu that the command was not resting on its resolve to sustain the high ranking and the minimal crime level in the state.
NAN reports that a recent security ranking from the Nigeria Police Headquarters rated Enugu State as a state with the lowest crime rate; which means that the state remains the safest state in the country.
He said the command was already sustaining the strategies that led to the ranking as well as involving new mechanisms to ensure that the feat remained.
“Getting to the top of a ranking is good; but it will be better if one can sustain it over a long time.
“We have involved new mechanisms and strategies to the already existing strategies that had made the state the safest in the country.
“The command has commenced massive outreach to all strata and groups in the state to ensure we get prompt information and intelligence to work on,’’ he said.
The commissioner also said that the command would improve the existing synergy it had with sister security agencies.
He, however, dedicated the new ranking to the gallant officers and men, who had through dedication and commitment policed the state to the best of their ability.
“Also, I will dedicate it to the support of the good people of the state and Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to the command,’’ he added. (NAN)
