Some persons suspected to be cultists on Monday killed two mothers when they attacked the residence of some of their targets in Benin, the Edo State capital.
This latest attack came following a call by a youth leader in the state, Mr Tony Adun, also known as Tony Kabaka, to the state government and the state House of Assembly to set up a task force that will checkmate the excesses of cultism in the state.
Adun stated that the last two weeks has witnessed the rise in cult activities in the State as about 25 persons lost their lives.
It was gathered that the alleged cultist at about 8pm stormed Virginia Junction by Murtala Muhammed Way, in search of their target, a 25-year-old boy.
The gunmen while in search of the 25-year-old boy were said to have stormed the store belonging to the mother, but were told he was not there, adding that he has not been seen for the past two weeks.
It was further learnt that the gunmen after killing their target went back to the woman’s store and shot her dead.
