Customs Seizes N40.5m Smuggled Goods

(Sundiata Post) – Federal Operations Unit (Zone B) of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) ‎has seized smuggled goods worth N40.530 million Duty Paid Value (DPV).

Comptroller Al-Bashir Hamisu disclosed this at zone’s headquarters along - highway on Wednesday.

He listed some of seized goods to include 484 parcels of Indian hemp, 373 bags of foreign , vegetable oil of 45kg capacity and 48 bales of second-hand clothes.

“The duty paid value of these items is N40,526,273 million. message to these smugglers is that we are going to rest and we make sure that we follow them into their bedroom just to stop them from bringing and banned goods into this country,” he said

The comptroller handed the 484 parcels of seized Indian hemp to the State Commander of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Uche Iyke.

remarks, Mr Iyke commenced the customs for the good job and urged them to sustain the onslaught on smugglers.
