KADUNA – The Director-General, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Mrs Nellie Mayshak, on Monday assured pensioners of prompt payment through the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).
Mayshak said this during a sensitisation workshop on Pension Management under PTAD North West Zone in Kaduna.
She said there was need to pay close attention to pension administration and management as a panacea for timely and effective pension payment under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
The director-general said one of its mandate is to maintain a comprehensive data base of pensioners under respective jurisdiction, and render monthly returns on pensioners and deceased pensioners details. [eap_ad_2] Mayshak said the agency had restored monthly pensions to genuine pensioners.
She said since the agency was established, there had been no single incident of misappropriation of pension funds because the agency has zero tolerance for corruption.
Mayshak commended President Goodluck Jonathan for establishing the agency to halt frequent crisis for pensioners after retirement from the service. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
